Three Directions for Shared Work

For university educators, students and researchers; artists, designers and curatorial teams; and organisations exploring design competitions and awards.

University Exchange and Art and Design Education

Explore teaching conversations, workshops and critiques around a specific question in creative practice. Proposed collaborations would bring learning goals, participants and teaching responsibilities into a practical plan.

Exhibition Planning and International Exchange

Develop ideas for presenting work and sharing its context across cultures. Curatorial purpose, audience experience, contributions and permissions would shape each proposed project.

Design Competition and Awards Services

Explore support for calls for entries, participant communication, review processes and the presentation of work. The organiser, IADC’s role and the terms of participation would be established for each confirmed initiative.

Research, interviews, process documentation and publications support learning and the sharing of outcomes across all three areas.

02 / About the Council

Making Exchange Useful

The International Arts & Design Council (IADC) is a platform for exchange across art, design, education and research. We aim to create space for people to share practice, examine questions and explore collaboration.

Our interest extends from creative work to the decisions, teaching approaches and cultural contexts that shape it. A useful exchange helps people understand different methods and find directions for their own work and learning.

Explore the First Concepts

A creative practice workshop, a presentation of work and process, and support for award programme development offer three starting points.

These are proposed concepts for discussion. They are not confirmed activities or open calls for applications.
